Extraversion-introversion concept based on an artistic-creative personality
Heinová, Dana ; Šípek, Jiří (advisor) ; Bahbouh, Radvan (referee)
The theme of this thesis is to investigate the dimensions of extraversion-introversion as one of the fundamental characteristics of human personality. In the theoretical part, we are bringing a brief history of efforts to define and describe this dimension, and we also introduce some current concepts and appropriate diagnostic methods. Furthermore, in the theoretical part, we briefly focus on the specifics of personality dimensions of extraversion in the context of artistically creative personality. The aim of this work is not to contribute to answering the question about the existence of a relationship between the creative artistic process and a creator's introversion or extraversion. Artists are a psychologically widely studied group so we decided to use some specific knowledge about their extraversion or introversion in our research. The aim of the practical part of our thesis is to contribute to the search for the possible connections between personality theories of H. Rorschach and H. J. Eysenck. Both theories and methods (the Rorschach test and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire - EPQ-R) are based on the neurobiological characteristics of the individual and typical ways of responding but they differ in their approach. H. J. Eysenck's assumption of rather less extraversion of artists, as well...
Introversion versus extraversion in the Eysenck personality test and their relation to the dissocial personality disorder
Balková, Barbora ; Šípek, Jiří (advisor) ; Bahbouh, Radvan (referee)
The aim of this study was to confirm the hypothesis of Eysenck proclaiming that the psychopaths are more extraverted than the ordinary population. The author reached the conclusion that Eysenck understood psychopathy as a concept similar to the dissocial personality disorder. Based on these grounds it was deemed reasonable to test the hypothesis on individuals with such a diagnosis. The author choose the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ-R) and the 4Elements Questionnaire which allowed her to test the hypothesis with regards to the various aspects of the dimension of extraversion. The research confirmed that the individuals diagnosed with the dissocial personality disorder reach higher values on the scale measured by the EPQ-R than are the values shown for the general population. A significant positive correlation was also found between the scale of extraversion measured by the EPQ-R and the element of fire measured by the 4Elements test. However, no correlation was found between extraversion and the element of air. Based on these results the author concludes that the individuals with the dissocial personality disorder are more extraverted than the general population, primarily due to the higher scores in the items monitoring impulsivity, liveliness and ascendance.
Distribution of intelligence and of the personality traits in FtM and MtF transsexuals
Novák, Marek ; Weiss, Petr (advisor) ; Kebza, Vladimír (referee)
The thesis deals with the differences between Female-to-Male (FtM) and Male-to-Female (MtF) transsexuals, focusing on their intelligence and personality traits. The aim of the study was to compare the results between male and female transsexuals in these two areas and to recognize if the distribution of given personality traits corresponds more to their biological sex or to the gender identity. In the theoretical part of the work, studies about males and females in the population are presented and put into a broader context of the studies concerning FtM and MtF transsexuals, while using all accessible literature. The research comprises of data comparison of 200 transsexuals (100 MtF and 100 FtM) using Raven's Progressive matrices and DOPEN questionnaire. The results were evaluated by the statistical analysis and were later compared to the norms for men and women in population. There were found no differences in intelligence in both groups of transsexuals. Both groups' intelligence (IQ 117) is slightly above-average. Using the Raven's Progressive matrices, higher variability of results was measured in the MtF group. Male-to-Female transsexuals reached significantly higher scores in neuroticism compared to Female-to-Male group. This scale was identified as significantly higher in both groups when...

Buriánková, Veronika ; Franková, Emilie (advisor) ; Maňák, Radim (referee)
My dissertation is focused on analysing the importance of personality typology during the choice of career. The theoretical part is aimed at the clarification of related key concepts, summary of knowledge concerning the personality typology and explanation of chosen theories dealing with personality typology. I paid particular attention to the type indicator MBTI, which is subsequently used in the practical part. The methodological part follows the theoretical part. The methodological part delimits the particular phases of the research and together with the theoretical part serves as a basis for the practical part. Within the practical part the personality typology issues used during the choice of career are analysed through the research and subsequently the interpretation of ascertained results is mentioned.
Self concept in children with learning disabilities
GORNIAKOVÁ, Kateřina
This diploma thesis deals with the self-concept of children in the class which have the specific diseases of learning. These kids are in their pre-adolescent age (12-15 years). The first part of the thesis gives the definitions related to the discussed topic and these defined terms aim to offer basic information to the reader about the issue. The next part reflects the research itself which aspires to find out and compare the self-concept of children with the specific learning disorder with children who were not diagnosed with this disease. The standardized tests were used for the research which allowed to find out the level of extroversion, introversion and neuroticism in case of children and also, these research were used to find out whether there is an effort for desiderabiltiy, and further such child´s positiion among other kids, his imagination of learning skills and abilities in different subject; i.e. whether the types of specific learning disorder can negatively influence mental stability of the child and whether these have a contribution in relation to his possible neurotic development.
